CHALLENGE
A leading strategy consulting firm was looking to understand the hearing loss market in the US; current treatment methods used by otolaryngologists (ENTs), advantages/disadvantages, the needs, as well as the insurance pathways, recommendations from the insurers, in terms of current programs, approaches and reimbursement on behalf of their client, who developed a solution and wants to make it accessible to physicians and their patients.
BTHT APPROACH
BTHT team began working on diverse aspects of the projects simultaneously to swiftly assist the client with their challenges. The team conducted in-depth studies involving ENTs and both public and private insurers in different regions of the US. Project team sourced:
- ENTs working at hearing centers or in a private office and performing surgeries.
- Insurers from private sector to discuss their opinions on client's solution, regarding the cost and reimbursement rate.
OUTCOME
As a result of team's collaborative efforts, BTHT connected the client with relevant experts who are experienced ENTs and private insurers. The insights gathered from ENTs helped our client understanding how their solution would be received by physician perspective, its usefulness and sustainability. In addition, the consultation with the private insurer played an important role in guiding the client in terms of accessibility to patients, cost of the solution, how much would it be reimbursed.
